Curriculum Writing | Facilitator Guide

Multimedia Immersion Inspires STEM Learning

  • Collaboration between the Arts and Technology faculty and science and engineering educators to develop a STEM-rich multimedia production course.

  • Designed and developed facilitation guide and student workbook.

  • Assessed through a pilot program offering support and coaching.

  • Introduced the fundamentals of multimedia and video production through creative thinking, with a particular emphasis on the engineering design process, relevant science content knowledge, and documentation of design decisions.

Collaborated with Professor Rob Harari and led the development of the curriculum based on his vision and experience developing a multimedia design course. Specifically, I created a teacher facilitation guide and a student guide that focused on the design process, science content, technology tools, and project management that would be leveraged throughout the nine-week course.

Making the vision come to life.

Professor Harari’s vision for this original course was clear, but the challenges were:

  1. Focusing the course on developing and clarifying our enduring goals.

  2. Capturing the vision and creating synergy between the vision and the curriculum.

  3. Integrating appropriate standards and making it accessible for high school instructors.
